Or, find them in an endless buffet of previous jams from this year in the official Soundcloud MEGA-PLAYLIST 🛎️
📽️This stream's featured flick is a Western drama from 1931, Cimarron, starring Richard Dix (Dick Dix?🤭) and Irene Dunne. Yet another one of those Oklahoma frontier joints. Evidently, it wrangled-in a ton of awards. Was it really that boomin'? See also: a list of featured flicks directly from the Letterboxd log, or at the bottom of my livestreams page.
**Unlike previous streams, this one does not feature a full silent film. Instead, I tried something different: one-off 2-3 minute loop jams based on audio samples stripped from particular scenes of Cimarron. This was my submission idea for Internet Archive's 2026 Public Domain Remix Contest. By playing with the old talkie in a fun and interesting way, I hoped it would make for an entertaining and even meaningful celebration of the audio-visual nature of cinema. While it was challenging to work within the time constraint and find a way to work the film audio into the loops, these were still some very fun takes.
🔁 To stay in the loop and be there for the next stream while it happens in real-time, subscribe via YouTube or Twitch. If you're on YouTube, be sure to ping the 🔔 to make sure the notifications come through. If you miss any while they're live, don't fret, the VOD will be uploaded soon after it ends, followed by a peronal email sent to anyone subscribed to the "New Music" list on (In)Sitze.
🫶The best way to support me is by word of mouth: share the jams with someone who might dig it! Get them on the mailing list! Or buy one of my songs fromBandcamp. Every bit helps😊
Oh, how the giraffe riffs howled at my discomfiture.
